In this vein, they strike all the time. I had a "pledge period" when getting into my honor society (which had Greek letters). Greek letters were assigned to certain dorms and we had to be "initiated." Black folx always tryna 'nitiate somebody.
Honestly, some things are not meant to be "made special." Sometimes an honor society is just a bunch of smart people and should stay as such. Leave the nerds in peace.
