Every company has a dresscode--while you'd think banks would err on the conservative side, if you're working the sales sides, in that you have a lot of face time with clients, you really need to dress to impress.
Especially in the bigger cities, i think. Men have it so easy - throw on a suit, tie and make sure your socks go with your shoes. A lot of the top (male) bankers have personal shoppers so they look the part but not over the top/borderline inappropriate, which is what this woman is accused of doing.
Re: the pics, these were a spread for a story in the Village Voice, which I'm sure did a spread specifically for the story, to show her in a certain light. I can't imagine she wears ALL of those outfits.
Showing the difference between her being "fully dressed" (turtleneck, pants and jacket) and... not so much (the "All About the Bensons" shots, pic #2, and MAYBE #3) proves (i'm hoping) that she's not on slutbucket mode every day, but if she wanted to be all the way turnt up, she very well could.
