Don't forget your college community. Everyone has mentioned what you do within the community, but people also take notice of events on campus.
You can also involve the community on campus. For your next service project, increase the size. Call up a local paper and let them know you are doing the project and welcome volunteers from the community. Or you can call up a specific group (after-school program, church group, etc.) and invite them to join you. Not only are you involving the community, you are doing soemthing worthwhile for someone else!
