Does your school have an Office of Greek Life? This would be an excellent question for them, since we don't go to your school and can't give you specifics.
In MY humble opinion, if a guy was interested in Alpha and came up to me (discreetly) to express interest with your same story.... well, I don't see how any harm could befall him from trying.
