Just be you and don't let the braces overshadow your personality. They are a temporary thing that will disappear, your personality isn't temporary.
I do get your concern though, I had braces while in high school and OMG I thought that any reason I didn't "make" something was because of my braces, as an adult I've realized it had nothing to do with my braces.
If you want to go through recruitment, you should do it for the right reasons and just be yourself. I know there are many great threads on the board about recruitment.
