I think "no frills" is different everywhere. I think my school was pretty good at keeping some frill while taking out some other things. Ex: We don't do a skit night (Philanthropy night instead), but we still have fun-themed House Tours Night and Pref. We also still have coordinated outfits and such.

My only complaint was about Philanthropy night. I understand the importance of talking about our philanthropies, but I found the craft-making component to be really silly. It was particularly so if you were part of a sorority whose phil. doesn't really translate well to a craft.

I would MUCH rather have just done a nice presentation with video (for example) about RPM rather than a craft.
