It's worth watching some of the secret scenes at CBS.com.

In one, JT guesses that Parvati might have an idol, but figures that if Russell plays the idol that would flush out Parvati's idol and at least one of the girls would be out. He thinks it would be "even better" if Parvati is still there because that would mean she played an idol and now the girls don't have one.

In another, Russell says the story for the Heroes will be that he and Parvati both played idols. (He doesn't say anything to indicate that he knows she really has one.) Because he suspected Parvati might have an idol, he voted for Courtney, "the second in charge of the girls' alliance." His only concern is that Sandra will say they didn't play any idols, so he's going to plant the "Sandra is a world-class liar" seed as quickly and deeply as possible, and he's going to have his alliance make sure Sandra stays in their sights, espcially if Rupert is around.

Meanwhile, in his blog Jeff says "We told [all the Survivors] at the start of the show that they should read a lot into the fact that while they hadn’t seen Russell play, Russell was selected as one of the 5 most notorious male villains of all time."

I know Jeff sees some gameplay in what JT was trying to do, but the secret scenes just highlight JT's stupidity and delusion.
