All Right,

The hearsay goes that they're a bunch of rich, "well taken care of" and "fun loving" girls. (I'm trying to be nice)
But that's only what I hear and it could be wrong so please please please just get to know them and don't worry about the rep. Personally if you only have a year or two left I'd join the chapter because USC could be SO overwhelming. I transfered to my school and found that joining a sorority let me feel like more than another face in a crowd. But if you have quite a while see if you can wait a semester and get to know the girls outside of the sorority setting. Try and become friends first and then become and active again. Or if you have alumnae status by leaving your school, check out the alumnae group and see if there's any young girls you click with there.
If you're transfering before they have formal rush, see if you can help out with that. Seeing how they interact with eachother and thier alumnae will give a real good insight into thier sisterhood. Since everyone gets so stressed, if they manage to be great to eachother at that time I'd bet that they'd be wonderful the rest of the year.
