I totally got what happened with Patty and Gavin. It's the same issue they had in the last movie too, but it's a little more transparent here: She was always intellectualizing everything, but never just knowing how to be open about her feelings. That's what he meant by "this is what it's like being married to a psychologist." ()Because of that, she couldn't show him love, she didn't know how because she was always so busy being objective. Then Noah died and she totally shut down. She went from objective to totally cold and he was sick of waiting for her to come out of it. Uuuuuhhh but him all on top of her saying "I'm gonna purge" was too much. It creeped me out, I thought he might rape her.

I thought Janet did well considering this was filmed right around the time Michael died. It definitely wasn't Oscar-worthy, but I could see she where she put a lot of her pain into Patty's pain.

Angela was WAAAAY over the top at times (like at the airport), but I still cracked up for the most part. BUT I think TP forgot that he ended the first movie with Angela promising to never drink again.

I felt the unraveling of Patty and Gavin's marriage dragged out too long and the grieving not enough. It would've been A+ if those two lengths of time had swapped.

And when Sheila did what she did, I wanted to scream, "Noooooo! Don't you remember what happened to Byrd in Soul Food!!!"
