Jen, good call on the laptop! While I totally love HP and would recommend it, if you need something a little less expensive, you might want to check out
www.dell.com ...they have very good computers and I think some of their laptops are on sale now for like $899 (American) which is definitely less than HP's $1200. Of course, you'd have to see what stuff was included.
