I don't think that his marriage to Aaliyah is relevant and I respect R. Kelly for not even speaking on it.

First, there are no official documents as was stated earlier. The only reason why people found out about the alleged marriage is because a reporter at Vibe Magazine has a "copy" of the marriage license. The copy is all that anyone has and it doesn't take much to forge a copy.

Second, at the time when R. Kelly and Aaliyah got married, she was sixteen. She would have been old enough to get married with her parents' permission. So, if the marriage really did take place, it would have been legal. R. Kelly can always argue that he fell in love with her and did what was legally required of him to be with her.

I'm not saying he's right, but I don't think that this is relevant to the current case. It hasn't been proven and is still, at this point, just a rumor.

I haven't seen the tape and I really don't care to. But, I do agree wholeheartedly with the point that Ed Gordon was trying to make. If he does have sex tapes, then how does he know that he's not the person in this one.

I think that R. Kelly has seen the tape and knows exactly who is in it. If the girl was underage, he has probably paid her and her family off by now. He said that she and her family deny that it is her. They probably got their money and her parents don't want their name dragged through the mud.
