My suitemates last year were all international students from different countries. It originally went very well as we were all learning how to work with each other and figure out this new place, or so I thought. About a month in, one of them decided to begin to throw parties even though she was underage. I mentioned that she was underage to her and her response was (and this is a direct quote) "I'm allowed to drink in my country and I am not going to listen to any stupid American rules." Well the continued for a couple of months until Thanksgiving when she somehow disappeared. Not like "Oh hey I'm moving out." like she was there one morning and when I return from class in the afternoon all of her stuff was gone. None of the other suitemates know where she went or even saw her leave. We got her mail till we moved out including her returned deposit from the apartment complex.
Another of the suitemates had a boyfriend back home, home being South Korea. She was 20 while he was 34 and from Canada. However he lived in Korea. Because of the time difference, she was on the phone with him at weird hours. How do I know this? Because I could hear her screaming and yelling at him through the living and kitchen area with closed doors. This suitemate also had a tendency of forgetting about food, like a pomegranate that was in the refrigerator for six months, leaving raw meat out on the counter over night, boiling soup for 45 minutes until I found it, etc. She also tried to freeze eggs. Not like cooked eggs, but eggs still in their shells. I don't know if the freezing broke the shell or if they just knocked against the freezer's walls and broke, but it was a mess to clean. Oh and she never cleaned. Her dishes were never done and she just left everything out. There would be garbage bags by the door that the other suitemate or I would have to take out and we would have to clean up after her or we couldn't cook anything.
