I personally feel this show does glamorize teen pregnancy. MTV is taking a subject that is now on the rise again and putting it on reality television. Teenagers (well all of us) are being BOMBARDED with reality shows. Then these reality show stars because "real" stars and taking up covers of People (i.e. Heidi Montag-Pratt).
Remembering how stupid I was as a teenager, I was all about Hollywood and "wanting to be famous" myself.
I wouldn't be at all suprised if girls will eventually deliberately get pregnant so that they can call MTV and be on the show. My own stupid cousin (now 20) deliberately got pregnant at 18. Remember the pregnancy pact in Maine? Those girls go so much attention because they got pregnant.
The thing is, these girls are obviously craving attention in their lives, and now they are getting it, albeit negative. But as a teacher, kids don't care whether they are getting positive or negative attention, all they care about is "getting attention".

I agree with you. I was on a messageboard after I had googled one of the girls. There were teen girls posting on there how they were so excited for the new season to start and actually thought it was COOL that one of the new girls has twins. Teens think MTV is cool and "reality". They don't know what real life is like.

I thought meth-head but then again he might've just lost his job like thousands of others have. He did say McD's told him he was too over-qualified which wouldn't surprise me if it was true because I've had friends who've been told by Target that they are too qualified.
My parents instilled the fear of God in me to not do drugs and not get pregnant. The chance of disappointing them alone kept me away from that stuff. I had the strictest parents of my friends in junior high and eventually they let up as I got older because of gaining my trust. What happened to those kids I hung out with in junior high whose parents didn't care where they were? One is in prison for life on a conspiracy for murder charge. The others had kids either in high school or right after, out of wedlock. Some have done jail time. Things do happen but it really comes down to teh parents.
