I'm sorry ya'll I just can't get with it. I realize I'm not Greek but I'm willing to wait FOREVER for the benefits of belonging into my choice BGLO before ever, Ever, EVER claiming to be a member. I want the opportunity to become a MEMBER, not to go around "pretending" (I put it in quotes because you can't) to be one.

When I was a freshman, I've had several people claim they might have been in an organization and they weren't. How did I find out... I visited the chapters website or for the org of my interest, I went to the events they held or for orgs I weren't interested in, I just went to a function an noticed how all the members were wearing one thing and they another. Some people were legit, they just weren't a member of that chapter but some were proven to be otherwise. And with those people, I had to cut off all ties with them because if they were going to lie about something as serious as this, then what else would they lie to me about?

And you know what else? I hate it when after certain organizations (this one at my school for instance) bring out their new members for their coming out show; you see just about everyone and their momma wearing that orgs colors. And it's not just the wearing of the colors but it is them accepting congrats for being new members of the chapter THEY KNOW they were not apart of. Makes me sick. And the funny thing is that some of these girls will make up stuff about what they did while they were "On-Line", and me and a REAL member of the organization or a group of new members will just be standing there listening. Of course the girls are dumb enough to give their real name so when folks go to the website and see their name is NOT listed, then they are already caught. Stupid people.

So in a nutshell perping is not worth it. I wish someone could point me in the direction of one of the forums where folks were talking about people switching orgs. I got some comments for that one too (if I can have permission to post them). Okay ya'll I found the thread, it is on the Delta Sigma Theta board called A(nother) Word of Advice and it is at or NEAR the top.
