President of alumni in the area, goes to events and retreats etc. Plus I'm from Jackson ms, so going greek is a must if you're from there. At the beginning of fall semester I pretty much already knew which fraternity i was going to be in. Talked to them all summer, went ot a couple of their parties they already felt like brothers before school started. So i go through recruitment, I go to this house exclusively, i also bring my best friend who wasn't big on greek life but came out anyway. So to make a long story short bid day came around. I of course recieve a bid but my best friend doesn't. Literally right before i sign my bid, i casusally ask them why my friend didnt recieve one. One of the guys simply told me because he's arab and some of the alumni wouldn't like it, but he was a pretty cool guy. I was beyond furious. I end up getting into a big arguement with some of the brothers for this blatent racism. I call my dad, he and some other inluential alumini come to the house to discuss the matters. After about an hour and a half of talking to me they still won't change their minds because "thats just how things are, around here". My own father agreed with them. So i didn't sign my bid and was simply disgusted by the thought of greek life.... But throughout the semester I was actively recruited by 3 to 4 fraternities who all seem pretty cool. So i decided to give it one more shot. Also my dad offered to buy me a new car, if i gave his another chance, so of course i can't pass that up.... Side note after reading stories on here in my opinion fraternity recruitment is harder because your arent shuffled around to every house, you actually have to go out of your way and meet the guys. Anyway wish me luck here are my top 5 so far without going through recruitment, maybe more will be adeded later we will see.

Red (Dad's fraternity)
Blue (Uncles's fraternity)
Green
Orange (My favorite so far, actively recruited me)
Black

This fraternity is a big part of his life.

I also met a really cool guy and he introduced me to a newer fraternity and all the guys there were pretty cool and chill too. So add pink to the list. So a small overview

Blue-First fraternity I went to because they were the closest. I had a good time here. But, I felt like they were trying to impress me by talking about their parties and crazy times they had. I wanted to hear about their brotherhood and philanthropy and i think they may of talked about those two things a total of ten seconds. I got invited to their party that night though.
Green- A solid fraternity from what I heard from some of my friends. I don't really know what happened. I kind of just walked in, then walked out without talking to anybody. They didnt look horrible or anything, I just felt i was missing something as I walked in. I dont know what, it just didnt feel right.
Black-I met some of the funniest guys in this one. They were all hilarious and I had a great time. The only thing was they seemed like they didn't have as many brothers around like the others did. I got invited to their party that night too.
Pink-The newest fraternity around but they all seemed really cool. They talked about brotherhood and intramurals, which I was very interested in. The only problem here was that they got no sorority to be with that night. I asked them about it and they said their social chair waited too long or something, but I kind of got a feeling they weren't that popular with sororities. No party that night.
Red-When I walked in I was a little bit scared it may be a little awkward. But, I had a good time, the guys were all cool. I also noticed they were very nice to the sorority girls the whole night, and i was impressed by that. I got invited to their party that night.
Orange-I was met down the street by a brother and was walked to the house. This was probably the only time the whole night I had a one on one time with a brother. Anyways after a five minute talk, by the time we got to the house the guy was on the verge of tears, expressing his love for his fraternity. I guess its just me but i personally loved this. I felt like it was something they were proud of. I got invited to their party that night too.

I went to Orange, Red and Blue's parties. Blue was definitely the best, but overall i had a great time at all of them. The next day i just decided to cut Green

If they fill he's creepy or doesn't fit the profile of a certain fraternity they tell them. So during the parties you have to be careful, have fun, flirt a little, while not overstepping your boundaries. Anyway Wednesday during the day, I get a text from call from red, orange, pink, blue and black all inviting me back that night. During lunch though i talked to a couple of my sorority friends and told them i was considering pink. Every last one of them said they couldn't see me in this fraternity. That I didn't look or talk like them. Also they said they never partied with them nor had any events with them. So I don't really think it was due to peer pressure, maybe more realizing what they were talking about I decided to cut pink. So that night i changed up the order a little bit.
Orange- I had a great time here once again. Got to know alot of more people due to their being less rushees. I loved being here and got invited to their party that night.
Black-Again the funniest guys I've ever met. Plus all the girls at their event said they loved hanging out with these guys and they were all cool. First time I asked around i got no negative opinions about a certain fraternity. Got invited to their party
Blue-I was having a great time here, until one guy invited to his room to drink a little bit. I don't know it rubbed me the wrong way. I guess i was trying to keep an open mind and not believe their reputation as a party all the time fraternity, but they continued to validate this stereotype. Got invited to their party
Red-Went here last because this was their alumni night, so of course dad was there. Surprisingly though had a really really good time. Heard some stories about my dad that I never knew and just had a good time. They didn't have a party that night. But had an after meet and greet with the alumni.

So i went to red first, had a good time. I knew alot of alumni so i didnt stay that long. I went to Black after and had a blast. It seems like everyone was having fun and it was hard to see who was a rushee and who was a brother because they just seemed to accept everybody. Blue, stopped by didnt stay long it was kind of late, but the sorority they were with that night. Every girl in there was beautiful, so I was rather impressed by that. Didnt get to make it to Orange stayed at Black alot that night, but I sent them a text still showing my interest.
Easier for me to read this way
