I vote for the unresolved issues theory. I think the OP has regrets, unfulfilled goals, etc and this is just one of them. I don't think she can get past the whole experience, and would like to reach out to the Greek community for validation.

ETA - for the record - I do not think Trideltsallie has a reputation for being an "upper tier hater." I don't get that, even after reviewing the thread that 33girl linked.
