You are the second PNM in the last few days who has "figured it out", IMO. Despite all the "tent talk" and stereotypes, and the horrid, ugly, mean, nasty things that I've seen written on some of those gossip sites (one visit was enough, thank you, don't need to go back there, uh uh, no way), the bottom line is that each and every GLO is able to offer a meaningful lifetime connection to any PNM, IF you are willing to meet half way.
I want you to know that I consider myself fortunate to have friends from almost every sorority (not all, haven't met anyone from a few houses yet). It doesn't matter to them that I was an XYZ at QRS University. Who cares? What does matter is that we share a common Panhellenic bond, and a common experience, and common values. I've been able to help them along and they've been able to help me (my current work position came through a referral from a Kappa and an AChiO!). There are awesome women on these boards; I've been lucky enough to meet one face-to-face, and we're developing a friendship. I wasn't in her house, she wasn't in mine, but her people are my people, and vice versa.
Being open and willing to hold to the values and standards that our founders established has made all the difference.
I'm sending positive thoughts that you will be extended an invitation to Preference, and that you will find what so many of us have found through our Greek affiliations. All the best to you.
