Like I've said, I don't think he changed his remarks. If anything, I think that when he said "she has mentioned lavaliering," lots of people
didn't take that at face value and added the assumption he meant that she had mentioned that she wishes he would/could lavalier her. Take out that added assumption, and I don't see any inconsistency or change in what he said, just additional information.
