From my understanding, groups like Sigma Alpha Iota Sorority and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity had to drop the references to "professional" to receive exemption from Title IX. There are other threads where Phi Mu Alpha brothers explain this whole Title IX thing, but basically after Title IX there is not such thing as a "professional and social" fraternity/sorority. A group is either a social and exempt from Title IX, or a professional and co-ed.

Alpha Omega Epsilon is not co-ed. We fall under Title IX because we are a social sorority, as well as professional. There was a discussion about this at our International Convention and I believe our IEB consulted with our lawyers about this.
Sorry for the bump of the old thread, but I wanted to correct this.
