Many years ago I attended an ethics seminar and learned about the Long Arm of the Law when it comes to privacy expectations, working notes, etc. It totally changed how I wrote my notes, reports, etc. and what I wrote on protocols. Then I learned about emails and how those could also be subject to legal proceedings. Now, it seems, text messages never go away.
