Ugh. I forgot that one. I called my best guy friend from college (with whom I'd been "secretly in love" for 2 years), told him I was coming back to town for my birthday. I was having a thing a Dave and Buster's with some friends and asked him to come. He promised to be there, told me what a blast we would have, he really wanted it to be a special night for me. I decided I'd finally tell him how I felt when I saw him...which didn't happen because that required him to be there. Three days later as I was leaving town, he texted me about helping his friend move, totally unconcerned. He hadn't remembered at all.
My birthday was in August. I didn't speak to him again till almost November. He cornered me on Facebook chat to ask "Are you okay?" (idiot) and all I could say was, "No, it's fine. Why should you show up and keep your promises, it's not like you're my boyfriend or anything. You're not exactly the Ron to my Hermione." After a couple more weeks, I finally wasn't mad anymore and I just told him everything. We're cool now, but I'm glad to say he was sufficiently remorseful.
