leave it up to the crew? It didn't sound like the crew was actually doing anything to remedy the situation. It sounds like they were just focused on Ivana and not really addressing the problem.
No surprise there though. There seems to be a certain level of discomfort that service people have in telling parents to control their unruly children. I have seen this not only on planes but in restaurants and stores. Some parents quickly get irate if someone states that their little angel is being too disruptive. After all the attitude is that they are children and the sentiment is that people should be understanding of a child's need to have fun.
However, as some members have already stated, it sounds as though there was a safety risk at play with those kids not being seated.
And of course I find it amusing that they are being magnanimous in stating that they have not pressed charges. Of course not. They would be opening a very large and very unpleasant can of worms in doing so.
