I'm aware of the celebrations in Texas. If you look on the news or visit websites, it shows this weekend or today where it is being celebrated ALL over the country ("coast to coast")

Here in the NO area, the restaurants are out with all the fanfare, (even though it competes annually with Jazzfest), but it still occurs. I saw where Mexican Americans make up 12% of the population, like 35 million people.

I didn't pay attention to the thread when it was "alive", hence the "no reply" from me. If it's right or wrong, why is Cinco de Mayo "singled out"? (so to speak?) Why do the Mexican Americans not find it offensive? Why is it offensive?
