Nothing too shocking I thought in the first episode, although I did when Catelynn and Tyler lied to the doctor and later said they still had unprotected sex. Way to not learn a lesson!
That I'll never understand. Things happen, but to not learn from such a life changing event is just dumb.

I like this show because the girls aren't treated like second class citizens just because they are (at least some of them) young single moms, but at the same time they don't make it look easy. I do not believe it is at all productive to act like a girl should be ostracized just because she got pregnant, but shows DON'T show how hard it is to raise a child when the parent is a child herself.

I also like that they show couples that stay together, couples that get married, a completely single mom, and one that has a sometimes strained relationship with the child's father. It's great when the relationship works out and both parents can be there for the baby, but my mom always reminded me that though not all men are pigs, some of them are, and counting on them to be helpful after the birth isn't always realistic. Some girls/women I know are under the impression having a baby will bring them together with their s/o and I know some who have ended up caring for their child all alone and it's a hard road. I don't know that I would be able to.
