So, I ordered my Fiesta tickets and travel package last night. On the one hand I am so excited that my little TCU has a chance to play in a BCS bowl game. On the other, it is soooooooo disapointing that we have to play Boise. Again. (we played- and beat- them last year in the Poinsettia Bowl).

I am not one of these homers that is going to come on here and talk smack that TCU should be playing in the championship game. Honestly, I don't know how they would stack up against Bama, Florida, Texas, Ohio State, etc. However, it is SO maddening that the Powers That Be won't even give us the chance to play a BCS conference team in the bowl to find out. Schools like TCU and Boise get knocked because "they don't play anyone." HOwever, it is not like they aren't trying, but those traditional powerhouse schools *won't* schedule teams like us. This was our opportunity to see how we compare to top teams from strong BCS conferences and we were denied.

Whether TCU or Boise wins the Fiesta Game is irrevelent, as the response will continue to be that "yeah but you just beat another Mid-Major." It is like we were relegated to the kiddie table at Thanksgiving while everyone else is feasting at the grown-up table.

I will go to the game, and I will cheer very loudly for my Frogs, and I will certainly have fun. Even getting to play in a game like this is a dream. Hell, we were stoked to get to go to the Weedeater Bowl in Shreveport my senior year, as our team had been SO bad for SO long. It is just a shame that the opportunity to play in such a big game carries so little meaning. All the team wanted was a chance to show they belonged at that ranking, and a chance to *earn* some national respect. It won't happen playing another non-BCS conference team.

NOthing can be done at this point, so I just wish my team luck and hope that they get over their let-down and enjoy themselves (and play well) in Arizona. Go Frogs!

**On another note, congrats to srmom and her SMU Mustangs who are going to their first bowl game in 25 years! Sorry that you didn't get your Florida-Texas match-up, but SMU's team this year has to have alumni excited again.
