I'm an education major (AYA Language Arts) and I'm working on a multicultural pedagogical project for my Educational Equity and Excellence class. We have to research some group that we have no prior experience with and find strategies to teach them. My first thought was Hispanic but then I decided to try students who come from abusive homes. Well I can't find a lot of research on the latter subject so now I'm not sure what I'm going to do.
We have to find scholarly articles about the group and then implement some sort of project. We can either observe classrooms or interview teachers who work with students who come from that specific group about strategies they use and things they recommend. (I'm probably doing a terrible job of explaining this).
So what I'm looking for is someone to be my interviewee. I'm more than happy to take suggestions on what you think a future teacher should focus on. I have a very limited experience, mostly just with African-American children so I'm wide open on possibilities.
Feel free to PM me if you wish
Thanks!
