From what I recall, Beta Theta Pi's and Theta Chi's houses were acquired by the University when the campus expanded. (Maybe owned by UK and "taken back" as it were.) As such, both chapters declined in numbers and ended up closing.
I was pleased to hear President Todd - and others in the UK Administration - note that it was a priority to work with current chapters regarding housing
*as well as* look to bring back the fraternities that lost their houses due to previous campus expansion. Hopefully this is a trend that will continue.
