I was told that NO ONE, and that includes my biological sister, who is not an AXD can wear our letters! I don't make an exception for her just because I love her to death.
One interesting exception - people like boyfriends and whatnot can wear event t-shirts if they were at the event (the key being they were there, right, and the shirt doesn't imply membership). So if you have a lesbian sister, her girlfriend could end up in event t-shirts and people could mistake her for a sister. It happened in our chapter - but I think she chose not to wear them just because of that.
