Delta Tau Delta was founded at Bethany College, Virginia -- now West Virginia -- in 1858. Our oldest continuously existing chapter is Beta Chapter at Ohio Univesity in Athens, Ohio which has been in operation since 1862.

PS There is no truth to the cruel rumor that I was there for the chapter's founding,
however I have personally seen a picture of our favorite LXA Tom Earp standing there enjoying a frosty mug of Strohs watching the celebration.
