ETA: This makes me think of an incident yesterday in the elevator at work. Someone asked if I was enjoying the sunshine, which sounds like a simple question. But I didn't know whether she was being serious (because it was sunny) or sarcastic (because it's fall and gloomy and rainy). When I looked out the window after I got to my floor, I saw there was indeed sun so she was being serious. But I didn't know how to respond when she asked
