They did seem to quit, didn't they? Rather than have Phil (like he has at least once or twice before) come to them to tell them they've been eliminated and to save them from continuing on fruitlessly, it seemed like he came to them because they said "we're done." He never did the
I'm sorry to tell you that you have been eliminated from the race spiel.
But what if it was a non-elimination leg? You know you're in last place anyway, so sit down and rest for 15 minutes, then try again, hoping that it's non-elimination and that you can deal with the penalty next leg after the "mandatory pit stop." Sheesh.
