At Southeast, the Sig Taus were off campus (they just got recognized again in April-YAYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!) because of some very LONG drawn out affair with a staged hazing that someone recorded...very messy. Anyhoo, your Nationals let them keep their charter, so they got to use their crest, conduct official business, etc. (Bet THAT made the school officials mad!) They are a wonderfully close bunch of guys (hey, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right?) that participated (and won) in many IM games and philanthropy events. Most of the sororities had their philanthropy events open to the "whole campus" just so they could participate. Instead of getting Sigma Tau Gamma printed on their shirts, they always had STG for Super Tough Guys. I don't think it's derogatory at all-to me it stands for strong brotherhood overcoming obstacles. I look forward to participating with these fine men as Sigma Tau Gammas this year!
