Sorry to hear that she's disappointed, gee_ess. Having lived in the South, I know that many girls head to Ole Miss with strong expectations and family culture directed for certain houses. So it is hard, to be sure.

But really, at Ole Miss, all of the chapters are outstanding...she will hopefully work through the disappointment and be proud that she was invited to be a part of such a special system, third choice notwithstanding. I have had a few like this over the years, and have usually sent a nice note right away, to share how much my own house eventually meant to me, notwithstanding my initial apprehension after my close friend chose another house. I agree they need room to breathe and figure things out for themselves.
