Personally I would recommend Orbitz. However, try all the online services to see what they can find - it's not like you're commited to buy.

(HOWEVER, if the "low price" is on a "mystery airline," and they won't tell you what it is until after you purchase it, don't go for it. These are frequently charter operations and if the flight is canceled, you are just out your money - you won't be rebooked on another flight.)

You can also call a travel agent; there are some that specialize in low fares. Personally, I think that if a ticket is all you need and you are inernet-savvy, a travel agent is unnecessary. Now if you want to book a cruise to Aruba with plane tickets followed by renting an RV for a week, you might want to call an agent.

As far as days of the week, the traditional lower price (how airlines segregate business fares from leisure fares) is a Saturday night stay. Traveling on Friday won't be more expensive than traveling on a Tuesday, just make sure you're at your destination for longer than a weekend.

You can also get lower fares by being willing to connect in a city rather than flying direct.

But you should be lucky - cheap fares to Vegas are easy to find!
