Nope, Ren and Stimpy was created by John Krisfaluci, through his SpumCo studios. After R&S was so uncerimoniously snatched from him (long story) and he was forced to leave Nick, he's been doing work through his own studio.

However, the type of animation did make way for shows like Spongebob. The animation style is very similar. But nothing beats the original.
