Interesting thought. I tend to think, though, that he has a grudge -- although maybe it's a grudge against Sigma Pi for not giving him a bid -- and has come to "reject" his fraternity experience.

And one thing I'm thinking might be possible is maybe he was expelled from Sig Pi for the behavior he is condemning and is trying to get revenge.
