My sorority was a local when I joined, so it was definitely the local chapter that convinced me to join.
The fact that they didn't have a national affiliation didn't bother me... I did miss the idea of finding sisters anywhere in the world, but on the other hand, our dues were a lot lower
I'm still glad we affiliated with AEPhi, though.
