Recruitment started last night, September 10th.
We had two information sessions earlier this week, but I couldn't go because I was out fighting dark magic.
I registered, paid my fee, and got my Pi Chi yesterday. We were supposed to be at the Student Union at 6 for the first round of parties, Round Robin. I got there at 6:20 because traffic was terrible and I couldn't find a parking spot for my Nimbus. However, our Pi Chis hadn't even met us yet so I was right on time.
Our Pi Chi called us over and we met our group. We got a bag that we are allowed to carry - no purses. It came with a booklet with different information about being in a sorority. Each chapter had it's own page, where we could take notes. It also said things like their colors, mascot, and how much New Member and Regular Member dues are. We were given a pen, too.
(FYI: Round Robin is where you meet all 8 sororities for 15 minutes.)
Our Pi Chi gave us our name tag and we had to wait around for a while. Finally, after an hour, it was time for the first party.
My first party was
Dudley. I didn't know what to expect, but I wasn't suprised that they were chanting and banging on doors and singing as we walked in. I was picked up at the door by a girl and we started to talk. It was SO loud in there I could hardly hear, and it was the smallest room. It was really hot and uncomfortable. I met some other girls, and while they seemed nice, some of the conversations seemed force or hard to maintain. I didn't see the girl I know.
Second, we went to
Myrtle (I think..it's all a blur). Originally, I thought they were a struggling chapter, but they seemed well put together. Their room was bigger than the
Dudleys', so it was MUCH easier to hear and I wasn't so hot. The girls I talked to were nice, and I left thinking they were pretty chill and laid back.
Third, it was time for the
Cho Changs. I am in love. They were sooo cute and friendly, and did a really cute and original thing (not saying what it was). I loved most of the girls I talked to, but some of the conversations seemed force with one or two girls. I really hope I get invited back!
Next, we went to the
Fleurs. I was right..what a small group. The sororities are only allowed to have 30 girls in the room at a time..and I don't even think they had that many
The girl I talked to was really sweet, but she accidentally spit in my face....eek. I know it was an accident but still..kind of gross. The girl she bumped me to was really nice as well, and even though I clicked with the girls, I just don't know how I feel about this chapter. I couldn't see myself here. The girls could be my friends..not my SISTERS. I hope you guys understand what I mean. I can't lie to myself though, we had probably one of the best conversations I had all night.
Next, time for the
Luna Lovegoods! I was excited, and they did NOT dissapoint. Lovely girls, excellent conversations. So genuine..I could just go on about the love I feel for them. Crossing my fingers and toes for an invite back because I could REALLY see myself in this chapter. Oh, and they were allllll wearing matching black heels. Fierce!
Then, we went to
Minerva. Their theme was so cute, and I feel like the girls were really sweet and close. I like this chapter, but not was much as
Luna or
Cho Chang. However, I hope to get an invite back!
Next it was off to the
Hermiones. I was so excited I could hardly control myself, I just smiled. I wasn't dissapointed, either. Very sweet girls, and my school doesn't have houses, but these girls ALL live on the same block in houses next to each other. They seem like a really tight-knit group, and I'd LOVE to be a part of that. (Oh, and remember how I said they were all blondes? Every girl I talked to was a brunette.
) I hope to be invited back!
Finally, it was the last party with the
Ginnys. At this point, I was so exhausted I just wanted it to be over. I started to talk to a girl and she was a sweetheart. She introduced me to a bunch of people, and I ended up seeing both of those girls I know. They were excited to see me come out for recruitment, so I feel like I'll (hopefully) be invited back. I'm still iffy about the
Ginnys though. More time with this chapter is a must. I'm just not sure if they could be my sisters.
Luckily, my Pi Chi group had the last party off so we just ranked and went home. Tomorrow, we get to go to 6 parties (max). Here's how I ranked (the first six weren't in any order when I ranked them - it automatically does alphabetical, but I did it in order on here):

Tonight, Friday, is a Philanthropy round where you visit a max of 6 houses for 30 minutes. I'm seriously freaking out that I'm not going to get invited to any of the ones I like..but I'm sure ALL PNMs are nervous like this. I'll post after Philanthropy round if I'm still alive
