Preference Ceremonies
Ok, I am so sorry for keeping you waiting for so ridiculously long. I really am. I’ve been very busy with school and… well you can probably guess ! So anyway, I was really nervous for prefs! I was so excited when I got my schedule though!
Tennis
Gymnastics
Tennis– Their house was decorated absolutely beautifully! I talked to a few actives I had never met before. They said they had heard a lot about me and were looking forward to meeting me. A couple girls got up in front and told stories of how supportive their sisters were when they were going through rough times. I looked around and saw a bunch of sisters tearing up and some crying. I do not cry really easily but this definitely touched my heart. They had such a strong sisterhood. I would be honored to be a part of that. When it came time to leave, I didn’t want to go. I really wanted to be a Tennis.
Gymnastics - I was so excited to go back here! Their preference ceremony was beautiful. The girl I had been paired with for the past two rounds came up to me and we talked. She told me about all the wonderful things her sisters did for her when her mom died. I started tearing up. I talked to a few other actives while there and I loved every one. Their ritual was beautiful. I wanted badly to be a part of their sisterhood. Once again, I didn’t want to leave.
I was freaking out when it came time to fill out our bid cards. I LOVED both and knew I would be thrilled no matter which name I read on my card. It took lots of thinking which probably wasn’t necessary but finally ranked them like this.
1. Gymnastics
2. Tennis
After thinking it over, I realized that if I wasn’t a legacy to Tennis, I would rank Gymnastics first. So I thought I should follow my heart instead of picking one over the other just because of my legacy status. It was definitely close though. I would have been happy in either.
