What do you do for your philanthropy? Here at Illinois, a lot of the philanthropies are some kind of competition among the chapters. For example, we have a broomball tournament. Houses sign up because it is fun to play broomball. The entry fees go straight to our philanthropy, CMN. We get the ice time and trophies donated (or at very low cost), and we sell raffle tickets to cover the cost of shirts. Raffle prizes (usually gift certificates for restaurants, tanning salons, coffee shops, etc.) are also donated by local businesses, in exchange for putting their names on the t-shirt.

Within our Greek system, we have philanthropic canoe races, euchre tournaments, flag football, wheelchair basketball, ultimate frisbee, golf, swimming, bowling, softball, basketball, beauty pageants, volleyball, water wars, billiards, darts, trivia gameshows, and probably a bunch of others that I can't remember right now.
