Excerpt from article on the Emory Wheel's site:
For the first time in the 144-year history of the national Alpha Tau Omega fraternity, a single university, Emory, has won top national chapter, top brother in the nation and top scholarship awards in the same year.
“They’ve worked hard over the past several years to win each of these awards,” ATO faculty adviser Santa Ono said.
The top chapter award is based upon criteria such as chapter leadership, solid finances and brotherhood events, ATO president Michael Turgeon said. Emory’s ATO fraternity has won the top national chapter award twice in the past three years. The top scholarship award is given to the chapter with the highest cumulative GPA, Turgeon said.
Nicolai Lundy (’09C) received the award for top brother in the nation, also known as the Thomas Arkle Clark award, which is given to the “most outstanding senior of all the brothers of all the chapters in the whole country,” Ono said. . . .
