A couple of other points I wanted to make since I don't think they were clear in my story...
One, the girls in Felicity were actually great rushers; they made us all feel like we had a chance, like we mattered, were interesting, and like they wanted us. I never felt bitter towards them for not wanting me. If they'd been rude to me after meeting me a couple of times because they knew I wouldn't fit in, it would've been bad, but instead they were classy and kind to all.
Second, I totally should have attended the pref party with Noel. They DID become part of a national later that year and are (from what I hear) a very strong group on campus. All these years later, I still keep in touch with my friend who was in Felicity (still a great girl!) and my former roommate, who eventually joined Noel in the spring. She has great sisters and loved her experience.
