So here's how it went, all 30 seconds of it...

In a nutshell, the UC-Berkeley powers that be have now outlawed alcohol at fraternity parties. There was one shot of the second story of a fraternity house, and lots of shots of empty beer wrappings around garbage cans on the street. They interviewed some guy in a suit who I suppose was a university official, but didn't flash his name or position on the screen. No Greek students were interviewed.

UCB cited the incidents of sexual assault, etc., that had allegedly happened at fraternity houses, and said that they hoped this ban on alcohol at the houses would help with that. Nothing on where they got the statistics, nothing on how many members of the NIC have already gone to dry housing, no interviews with students with complaints.

Now I don't know about you, but sexual assault happened on my campus in AND out of the fraternity houses (in fact, more of it happened outside to my knowledge). Don't students have parties in their rooms with alcohol? Why aren't they outlawed as well? All it takes is one drunk guy to commit sexual assault, and liquor is liquor whether it's served in a fraternity house or someone's room.

Yet another hoosier in our lives.
