Haha...it definitely can be counted as beer.
For an idea on the number of varieties of beer out there, take a look at this:
www.beeradvocate.com . There are beers containing fruits, chocolate, etc. I won't disagree that there are beer snobs out there though, as I can be one of them sometimes.
Framboise would be a good start. You may also want to try something like Harpoon Rasberry Hefeweizen (if it's available in your area) or Sam Adams Cherry Wheat. Chocolate stouts could also be an option - some of them taste a lot like chocolate milk.
