I don't think she's responsible for putting herself "out there"; I think the media did that. While (if in her shoes) I wouldn't hold a press conference myself, I might very well consider hiring a lawyer. Not over the top in my opinion.

Holding a press conference?? Yeah, I would say she is responsible for putting herself out there.
And her attorney is really just...rude. The attorney, based on statements she made, appears to be irked that the men are having beer at the White House and her client isn't. She also had the nerve to say the 3 men overreacted while her client stayed "cool." GMAB But yes, I DO think it was over the top to hire an attorney. No one was going to sue her. Legally there was nothing that could be done to her because she was repoting what she thought she saw.
