Interesting question. I would say that officers in my chapter are held to a slightly higher standard that probably doesn't affect their normal life too much. The chapter president, however, is expected to display a much higher level of decorum.
They way our Exec Board is structured, the "A," or president, is supposed to act as the "face of the fraternity" and primarily deals with interaction between the chapter and the university and other Greeks. This set-up kind of dictates you being a constant positive representation.
ETA: As KSUViolet stated this is not a national policy or anything, just something I've noticed on the chapter level. I do, however, feel that the "A's" job description can set up this mentality.
