Bottom line: if you think you're going to transfer, I wouldn't suggest going through recruitment.
If you are planning on staying at your school, then consider it.
However, if your school is a competitive one, it may be tougher for you to get a bid as a junior than it would have been for a freshman.
If you go to a less competitive school, your class standing may be less of an issue.
