The possibility of transferring is floating around, but I really want to join a house, so I can at least experience what it would be like. Would it really be worth it, or should I just not rush?

Only YOU an determine what you should do.
I have to ask: If you are still in the same time-consuming major (and even further along in it), why would you rush now as opposed to freshman year. I mean, theoretically, school gets more time consuming every year.
