Regarding the watercolor, you may want to check with someone from the Fraternity's Archives Committee to verify if it's truly an Emily Butterfield watercolor. If so, you may want to consider donating it to the Fraternity through Archives Committee so it can be properly preserved for future members to enjoy. If you're unwilling to do that, I hope you will let the Centennial Committee display it at Convention 2004!

As you know, chapter property does sometimes manage to develop "legs". Remember, the property of a chapter house, including paintings, belong to the House Association. When Alpha was closed, the Achives Committee was given the opportunity to take all the "historic" property and add it to the Fraternity's collection, including all Emily Butterfield drawings, paintings, and watercolors. I'm guessing that if this watercolor you have is truly an Emily original, it's probably "stolen" from the house in the past.
