In Valdosta, one of the two is Sigam Delta Theta (Sigma). I was in it when I was in high school, and once I got to college, I realized that it was pretty much a joke. There is a lot of "hazing" during Ratt Week, but it's a lot of fun things like dressing up funny and things like that.
The bad thing is that most high school sororities don't have rituals or anything that means something to them. Sigma didn't have a motto, letter meanings, or anything special. We all just stayed in because of a Christmas dance, and when we were Seniors we could go on the beach trip to PC. There's not even a close sisterhood.
If it were me, I wouldn't do it unless there was some meaning to it. Looking back, I probably wouldn't participate again.
